| Last summer, after a pretty rough start to the new year (Low self-esteem and weight gain due to some jerk of a guy!) and totally freaking out about turning 35, I made the decision to "get in the best shape of my life by the time I turned 35".
August 2, 2008 - Enter FitnessQuest. On our first meeting I told them I wanted to be 3 things: 1) toned; 2) muscular; 3) and not jiggly (Damn butt and thighs!). I didn't care about how much I weighed or what size I was. I wanted to totally change the way I looked by May 21, 2009…the big 3-5! They designed a meal plan (Of course, none of the foods I liked to eat!) and a workout program. Well, after passing out after our first workout (Yes, I did!), the next nine months were a roller coaster of emotions; encouragement, discouragement, pride, lowliness, tears of joy, tears of “I can’t do this’! Not only was Lisa there to help me with my goal and the low points, she listened as I talked/complained/cried about work, life, the jerk I was dating, and the nice guy I’m now dating. No matter how bad I felt entering the gym, I always felt better after working out and talking to Lisa. I told her if she would get her psychology degree she’d really make a bundle! As the months went on, I did pretty OK with preparing my meals and actually liked them. (Thanks to those other FQ members for their ideas!) I also looked forward to the workouts (Not the weight-assisted dips. I hate those!) Lisa pushed me further than I ever thought possible. She never let up. She always had me doing something new and sometimes a “You want me to do what”? move! The knowledge and personalized meal/exercise programs Lisa and John provide, not to mention the above and beyond service they give their clients is top rated. When I workout with Lisa, she makes me feel like I am her only client. Her upbeat personality makes it really hard for me to hate her when she’s making me do those weight-assisted dips! I am happy to report that I turned 35 looking toned, muscular, and a little less jiggly (Damn butt and thighs!) I lost a total of 43.50 inches (Most coming from my already size A chest…like I had inches to give!!) and 11% body fat!! I feel so much better physically and even got some self-confidence back. I am now in the best shape of my life…so far. So far being the key phrase. I LOVE working out and seeing the results. There are still improvements I want to make. I’m going to continue to workout and live this new lifestyle. Hopefully, I’ll have even better pictures for my 36th birthday! Lisa and John, Thank you for everything!!
