I've been working out regularly with mixed results for the last 4-5 years. I was dedicated for a while and then would lapse due to work, kids, etc. In a matter of just a few weeks, I would completely undo all the gains that I had made. The yo-yo effect of exercising and dieting is frustrating. With a family history of heart disease, obesity and poor eating habits looming over me, I knew that I had to find a way to stay committed and not strictly diet, but undergo a lifestyle change. Before I made the decision to join the FitnessQuest program, I watched John and Lisa train other clients at the gym. I needed to get a sense of what I was in for. After seeing firsthand the results their clients experienced, I knew that I couldn't delay. I approached John with the goal of getting rid of the fat without losing what muscle I did have. Together, we set a course to "shrink wrap" my body and begin my lifestyle change. I knew that it was physically demanding, but I didn't realize how mentally taxing the process is...from pushing out one more rep when I was completely spent, to making smart eating decisions and not giving into the junk food temptation. With the help and guidance of John and Lisa, I have totally transformed myself and revealed the true me. Now it's my turn to be the walking example for the FitnessQuest program. It's the best decision I've ever made.
